Meinl MB20 15 Heavy Soundwave Hi-hats

The Meinl Mb20 Heavy Soundwave Hi-hats have a 15-inch diameter, giving them a full, rich sound. They are quite a heavy pair, which ensures they have a clear and articulate chick. Furthermore, as heavy as they are, these hats produces quite an impressive volume. This means that the Soundwave Hi-hats are very versatile and will be able to match the appropriate volume for a wide range of genres.

Air lock elimination

The surface of both the top and bottom cymbals has been polished to give it a brilliant finish, giving these hi-hats a bright sound to boot. And as they are manufactured and shaped by hand, their sound, colour and shape are consistently perfect. The Heavy Soundwave Hi-hats also have a special shape that prevents air lock - a vacuum between the two cymbals. They are made of B20 bronze, which consists largely of copper, 20% tin and traces of silver.

Four alloys for a complete cymbal line-up

The B20 bronze alloy is one of the four types of bronze that Meinl uses in making their cymbals. The B20 and B12 alloys produce a warm, low sound, and the B10 and B8 alloys are generally a bit higher in pitch. This way, Meinl has a wide range of products that complement each other perfectly.
